Why Ketamine therapy?
Ketamine is a safe and effective medication first used in the 1960's for anesthesia. About a decade ago, Ketamine's potential as a potent antidepressant came to light and started gaining momentum in the mental health field. Since then, dozens of clinical trials have demonstrated Ketamine to be safe and highly effective in treating various mental health conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, OCD, and anxiety when most conventional treatments have failed.
Fast
Common psychotropic medications take weeks to months to work. Ketamine's onset of action are observed within hours after treatment. Ketamine's antidepressant effect has been shown to be rapid and sustained even after just a single dose.
Effective
Dozens of high-quality studies have demonstrated Ketamine to have up to 90% response rate - even in treatment-resistant depression. Our Ketamine therapy is administered intravenously as it's been shown to be the most effective route of administration to achieve optimum benefit from treatment.
Safe
Ketamine has been safely used for 50+ years and has been approved by the FDA to treat major depression. Ketamine is currently being used by hospitals and clinics world-wide to treat other mental health conditions.
How does Ketamine work?
Ketamine works by binding on the NMDA receptor in your brain releasing a key neurotransmitter called glutamate. The activation and surge of this neurotransmitter in turn releases growth factors like brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which acts like a fertilizer to the brain that promotes growth of both neurons (brain cells) and synaptic connections in the area of the brain associated with emotional regulation and healthy thought patterns.

We can provide you a "super-bill" for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. As intravenous Ketamine therapy is becoming widely accepted as an effective and safe treatment for various mental health conditions, many insurance companies reimburse a significant amount for your treatments. We have simplified this process for you and it only takes a couple of minutes to do. We still encourage you to check with your insurance company to see what or if they will cover intravenous Ketamine treatments.
-
Do I need a referral? No. While we prefer and value collaboration with your healthcare team such as your primary care provider or psychiatric/mental health provider, we do not require you to have a referral. Our board-certified psychiatric mental health provider can do an evaluation to see if Ketamine therapy is a right for you.
-
Who will administer my infusions? Our licensed and dual board-certified family and psychiatric mental health practitioner will treat you from start to finish. Your Ketamine therapy journey is highly individualized. Our provider will modify your treatment plan as needed depending on how you react to each treatment. We are committed to giving you the best mental healing journey possible!
-
How many Infusions do I need?Every Ketamine therapy journey is different and highly individualized. We typically provide a series of six (6) infusions over two weeks, this is what we call the "loading phase". Patients typically notice significant improvement around the 4th-5th dose. Hence, we evaluate your response around this time and determine if we need to modify your dosing to achieve optimum benefit from the treatment. After the loading phase, a maintenance dose of every 4-6 weeks is typically recommended to achieve sustained relief of mental health symptoms.
-
Can you tell me more about the experience?Absolutely! Our goal is to give you the best mental healing journey possible. You will have a private room equipped with a comfortable recliner and an extra seating for a friend or family member. We can also provide you an eye-mask, ear plugs, and music. You are more than welcome to bring your own headphones and music playlist. Each infusion typically takes around an hour After your infusion, you will be monitored for about 20-30 minutes to ensure that you are safe and ready to go home.
-
Can I drive after my infusion? For your safety, you CAN NOT drive after your infusion, so someone else must drive you home. We do not require them to be present during your infusion.
-
Do you offer financing? We currently do not offer any financing. However, if you are in-network with us, we can try to see how much your insurance can pay towards the infusions and have you pay for the difference. While we do not bill insurance for the actual Ketamine therapy, we can bill for the time we spent during your treatments. We are dedicated to make your mental healing journey as affordable as possible.
-
Do you provide treatment for Pain?Unfortunately, we do not provide infusions for pain at this moment. Check back soon to see if this will change.
-
What if Ketamine doesn't work?As much as we want this journey to be effective for everyone, we understand that Ketamine is not 100% effective for every patient. As a clinic owned by a board-certified psychiatric mental health practitioner, we can work with you to find the best treatment for your mental health journey using other safe and effective modalities.
